Summer Updates

Now that another year of college has ended I have a few updates I have been meaning to share with the community. I always think I am going to have more time to work on my projects at school than I do. This summer I tell people I am interning for myself, which is an opportunity I would not have if not for this community. I going to do my best to keep track of the hours I work, the money I make, and the beers I drink during my “internship.”

Summer Job

I’m spending this summer working on a few different projects. The biggest is the version two launch of our College Copywriters platform. After signing up over 500 writers, who have written over a thousand articles we are completely redoing the site to make it easier to use and manage. If you have not tried out the site, and are looking for some great writers from top colleges and universities across the United States let me know!

My partner and I recently discovered a new coworking space in South Florida called Cendyn Spaces that we will be working out of for the next few weeks. It is an amazing new space right in Boca Raton for anyone in the area looking for a place to work.

Domain For Sales Landers

I have never made much money from parking, so I started looking for a solution to easily add custom For Sales landers to all of my unused domains. I stumbled across a wordpress theme called Domena, which was very easy to set up. You only have to install it once and it works on as many domains as you add. I set it up on one of my sites and will be adding another 70 or so names shortly.

Minisite Updates

I am still earning hundreds of dollars per month from my “minisite” although they are not so mini anymore. The largest has grown to just over 30 articles and counting. I think they have been able to survive the Google updates so well because I have kept the content fresh. Recently I have started twitter and google+ accounts for my larger sites. I am trying to see what impact that will have on their keyword rankings.

What are your big plans for the summer?
